We're Having a Heatwave

A hot day that saw fence-related activity finished by the middle of the day, followed by staying cool. Apparently this is  the longest heatwave in the UK since 1976.
Bella was very hot, but was revived after Su gave her a bath
New additions to the garden - more cosmos flowers looking gorgeous.
The tall purple flowers at the front of the house are coming to the end of their flowering - to be replaced by these spikes of nepeta flowers, which are just as beloved by the bees.
It startedto cloud over - a portent of the forecast thunderstorms?
Lovely clematis seed heads in a neighbour's front garden.
The first pair of abandoned glasses I have seen - hope the owner is soon reunited with them.
A novel fundraising pitch - Bella said we must go back tomorrow with some money in my pocket.
Some of the paths we go down are like an obstacle course between the nettles and blackberries.
Parched grass by the roadside.
I presume that the contents of the skip are not the items being moved…
The first abandoned plastic fork I have seen.
 Really dried out grass.
Cherries are falling - and the pigeons are stripping the cherry tree we can see from our back window.
This day a year ago, the clouds parted and the sun came out - it felt like a Summer's day at last!
