Slow Day at St Nick's

It was a late night at the Sunrise Cafe last night - we stopped playing at about 2 o'clock, and left sometime later... Today has been quite a s-l-o-w day as a consequence. We managed to walk down to Pedi. Passed this interesting wooden artefact on the way.
We caught the boat over to St Nikolaos beach.
How to steer a boat with one's foot …
It was really quiet there.
The season is beginning to wind down now - many of the umbrellas have been removed for the winter.
Great rocks by the jetty.
A bollard.
The sun coloured the hillside as we waited for the boat to take us back to Pedi.
Back at our apartment, the view down the valley was spectacular.
I looked up about half an hour later to see this glorious sight…  red sky and red sea.
This day a year ago, it was our last full day in Istanbul. We took a boat trip out to one of the Princes islands in the Sea of Marmara. There is no traffic on these islands apart from bikes and horses and they are full of big old houses with an air of faded grandeur.
