A Quieter Day

Rain again this morning, afternoon and evening. There's more forecast, so much so that we have postponed our planned camping trip with my brother and sister in law until July in the hope that it might be drier then. These geraniums really like it though.
This flag iris was freshly showered when I walked past.
Our flagship bus route stop … funding only guaranteed until March 2013, but it looks as if it has been cut earlier than that.
The BT Engineer left this telephone cabinet open. I couldn't resist a peek inside.
Had a day of work-type stuff - claiming expenses, reviewing blog photos over the last 20 months, and generally sorting out the pile of stuff on my desk.  Started to think about filling out the tax form, but the deadline is still a long way away, so no sense of panic or urgency yet! No social engagements tonight - but it is still a special occasion with these!
The best Jubilee cash-in I have yet to see - what have M&Ms to do with the Monarch's reign? Answers in the Comment box please!
The first time I have seen white M&Ms -  a day to remember :-)!
This in an email circulated to UWE staff today - worrying stuff, but glad to hear that no actual bombs have been sent. Trying times at UWE - staff are going on strike over the draconian workload model next Monday (after most of the Field Boards have met, so no massive disruption to the university's working). This dispute has been rumbling for a few years, so not surprised that staff are prepared to lose a day's pay over it.
This day a year ago, I was thankfully on the other side of lots of work for UWE. Had a lie-in, read the paper, did a bit of gardening down out allotment patch and took Bella for a walk up at my favourite haunt.
